Our story

At RMD Builders, Ryan Downey brings over 15 years of experience in high-end construction, craftsmanship, and commercial interiors. Born in San Francisco and raised in the North Bay, I’ve been immersed in the construction industry since I was just becoming a young man, learning from some of the best in the trades. Every year growing from new experiences from building ground up custom homes, custom furniture, to high end commercial interiors. I’ve been fortunate to learn from mentors who shaped my skills, mindset, and work ethic. They taught me that craftsmanship is about pride, problem-solving is about lasting solutions, and leadership is built on trust and accountability. Their guidance has been invaluable, and as I move forward, I carry their lessons with me—knowing the best way to honor great mentorship is to pass it on. That experience shaped my dedication to fine building, precision, and quality.

As a licensed General Contractor, my passion is creating beautifully crafted homes that reflect my clients’ vision. Most importantly my true goal is to help create spaces for families to truly make a generational dream home.
